DARI REDAKSI
Buletin Perpustakaan dan Informasi Bogor kali ini terbit volume II nomor 1. Ada perubahan yang perlu kami sampaikan kepada pembaca. Perubahan tersebut adalah kala terbit yang semula 12 kali setahun menjadi hanya 4 kali setahun. Hal ini disebabkan karena Redaksi sangat kesulitan mencari naskah. Pelatihan dan diskusi yang diharapkan dapat menelorkan penulis-penulis baru ternyata tidak berjalan dengan baik. Barangkali karena menulis tidak pernah menghasilkan sesuatu yang "instan" dalam bentuk kepuasan materi. Namun demikian Redaksi tetap berusaha untuk mendapatkan tulisan-tulisan yang dapat menambah wawasan pembaca di bidang perpustakaan secara umum. Oleh karena itu kami mengharap para pembaca dapat menyumbang tulisan demi keberlangsungan terbitan ini.

Seperti kita ketahui unsur-unsur organisasi yang dikenal dengan 6M tersebut adalah Sumberdaya Manusia (Man), Peralatan (Machine), bahan-bahan (Materials), biaya (Money), metode (Method), dan pasar (Market). Banyak teori manajemen yang mengatakan bahwa SDM merupakan unsur yang paling penting. Hal ini karena SDM sangat menentukan arah dan kemajuan organisasi. Pada akhir tahun 2006 yang lalu Perpustakaan IPB menyelenggarakan acara Seminar tentang cara-cara menangani bencara di Perpustakaan. Sebagai pembicara Perpustakaan IPB menghadirkan Pejabat dari Polres Bogor, Pejabat dari Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran DKI, Pakar Disaster Planning dari Perpustakaan Nasional dan dari Belanda, Pakar Lingkungan dari IPB serta the last but not the least Pakar Computer Data Security dari IPB yaitu Dr. Kudang Seminar.
